In general, I found out that placing your beehive on a raised stand will make it easier to maintain.
Beehives are recommended to be no more than two feet off the ground. Placing the beehive at such a low altitude deters the bees from entering homes or hovering above them. Keeping the hive higher than four feet poses less risk for humans near the beehive, but it also makes it easier for bees to enter the house.
3- The Temperament of Bees
Another critical factor to consider is the temperament of bees. Some bees are more aggressive than others, and therefore, require a more significant distance from the house.
For instance, the Africanized honeybees are known to be more defensive around their hives and pose greater danger than the European honeybee. If you’re keeping Africanized honeybees, the recommended distance should be at least two hundred feet ( 60.96 meters) from your house.
